Beef & Pasta Bake

Serves 4


Served with a salad this is a simple dinner.


300g Elbow Macaroni
1 cup tomato puree
1/2 tsp sugar
1 tsp dried basil
500g minced beef(any mince is fine)
300-400g cottage cheese
1 Cup water
1 1/2 cups grated cheese


Cook the macaroni until al-dente & drain.
Heat some oil in a pan & brown the mince. Add the puree, sugar basil, water & season.
Simmer about 15 minutes.
Spread 1/2 the pasta into an oven dish. Spread all the cottage cheese on top.
Sprinkle with 1/2 the grated cheese & then half the mince mixture.
Spread remaining pasta & then the remaining mince & finish with the remaining cheese.
Bake at 180c for about 40 minutes.


With many of my recipes just use what amounts feel right & what you like.
I add more cottage cheese as I love it, so experiment. There is no right way.
