3 sheets butter puff pastry 2 cans asparagus spears (not tips) 27 thin slices tasty cheese ( I shave these from a cheese block using a potato peeler) 1 egg beaten (eggwash)
1. Preheat oven to 180 degrees celcius 2. Drain the asparagus and place on paper towel 3. Use a sharp knife to cut each sheet of puff pastry into 9 equal pieces 4. Place a slice of tasty cheese onto each piece of puff pastry 5. Place an asparagus spear diagonally across each piece of puff pastry on top of the cheese 6. Roll the pastry over the top of the asparagus spear and join the edges together 7. Repeat process with remaining asparagus spears 8. Beat an egg and brush the top of each one with the eggwash 9. Place evenly onto an oven tray lined with baking paper 10. Bake for 15-20 minutes until golden brown and puffy 11. Serve hot!
