Tomato, red onion and cream salad

A great way to serve garden fresh tomatoes. The juice from the tomatoes and the cream are a great combination. I love to serve this with schnitzel and mash potatoes and dipping them into the creamy tomato dressing.


4 medium tomatoes.
1/4 red onion or 1 spring onion.
3 tablespoons of cream or sour cream or creme fraiche.
Salt and pepper to taste.

Optional ingredients
2 basil leaves
1 tablespoon snipped chives


Peel tomatoes if you wish and cut into bite size wedges and place into a serving bowl.
Add finely sliced onion or spring onion.
Add basil and chives if you wish
Pour on cream and add seasoning.
Mix together just before serving as too much juice comes out of the tomatoes if mixed too early.


Great served with green salad, potato salad.
