Serves 6

Description

Pasticcio a delicious pasta dish for dinner or supper dishes and what's more its so easy to make.

Ingredients

8oz minced beef
5 rashers of steaky smoked bacon (diced)
1 lge onion (diced)
1 cup frozen peas
1 cup of diced cooked carrots

10 oz any pasta shapes I use macoroni but any shapes will do

2oz butter
2oz plain flour
8-10 FL oz milk
Salt and pepper to taste
8oz strong Cheddar cheese

Instructions

Firstly put on the water to boil and a pinch of salt, add the pasta and cook for approx 15-20 mins until cooked.
While that is cooking make the meat sauce.
Dry fry the mince in a non stick pan then add the chopped onion and bacon and continue to cook until just cooked, next add the carrot and peas mix.
Next, make the sauce
In a saucepan add the flour,butter and milk, whisk continually over a high heat until just simmering add salt and pepper to taste, continue whisking until a shine appears.

In a large shallow dish assemble the pasticcio
firstly strain the pasta and mix with the meat sauce add the cheese sauce and mix together then place it all in the shallow dish, finally sprinklewith grated cheese and bake in over at 220 degs
celsius. until nicely browned. Serve and enjoy .

Notes

This dish will freeze well, just defrost at room temp. and heat up in the microwave or oven
