1½ shots citrus vodka ½ shot Cointreau ¾ shot cranberry juice ½ shot lime juice 2 dashes orange bitters ice Shaker & mixing glass Martini glass Shot glass (for measuring out the shots of alcohol) Garnishing (your choice of a lime wedge, lime slice, lime twist, orange slice or cherry)
Instructions
1. Fill your shaker ¾ full of ice
2. Pour ice from shaker into martini glass - enough to fill the glass
3. Fill up the martini glass with water (to chill it)
4. Pour vodka and cointreau into the shaker glass
5. Add cranberry, lime juice and bitters to the shaker (which still contains the leftover ice)
6. With your mixing glass tightly in place, shake the shaker 3 times over your shoulder
7. Dump out the ice water from the martini glass
8. Holding onto the the shaker tin in one hand and the mixing glass in the other, strain the contents from the shaker (being careful not to let any ice spill out) into now chilled martini glass
9. Garnish with your choice of a lime wedge, lime slice, lime twist, orange slice or cherry
Notes
I've added the more complex way of making this... but I generally skip the 'cooling' of the glass in steps 1-3 and just mix the drink (especially if I'm on to my second one already!)
